Custom metadata
We would like to be able to attach custom (JSON) data to entities (users, products, releases) in Moonbase. This functionality could be used to provide custom extra properties for filtering and more. In our case (we operate a host+extensions ecosystem inside our product), we would use it to indicate version compatibility requirements for individual extension releases.

Hey @Daniel , we are actually working on this right now! There are some docs here already, do you think it covers what you need?

These custom properties can be configured to be available through APIs, but also included in license tokens for verifiable use-cases in apps!

I took a look at the documentation! One other place where we’d like to add metadata is Releases, so that we can enforce version requirements between host and plugins. The rest of your implementation looks great, perfect for our needs - thank you!

We cannot include properties on releases in license tokens, since tokens are not attached in any way to a specific release, much like bundles, is this okay for your use-case? You only need it through the API?

Yeah, that’s fine for our usecase! We’d like to be able to check if updates for extensions are compatible with the currently installed version of the host application, having this information on the API will be plenty for this.
